new hair, gifts and a girl’s pride

new hair.

I cut and permed (again) my hair. result = it becomes messy curly and I look like just got out of bed without my headband on. but I like it. anyway, I always love doing things with my look. My friend Nuy collects photo of me since highschool and we laughed at my past looks! I can’t count how many times I change my hairdo. Long and straight, long and wavy, short and straight, medium and curly, medium and wavy, bangs, brown, red.

Not only hair, I do stupid and crazy things too with clothes. My mom always complaint about how I mixed my clothes, but Nuy said this when she bought a top she liked (but not so sure it would looks good on her), “I remember you and I just bought it, I don’t care what other’ll think”.

True, I never really care what others will think, let alone hear their negative comments. Oh yes, I got that all the time. Believe me. But at some point, I just don’t care too much. So what? It just clothes. Most importantly, it’s mine. I can do whatever I want with it.

Speak of fashion, I just got a present, a super cool Mango capelet from Hendra. I’ve been eyeing this for months so it’s just great. It really helps since now it’s Bandung in rainy season and I’m using angkot and ojeg most of the time. Last saturday after work, I’m strolling down Dago street with my new capelet, it’s drizzled and wet everywhere. I love this kind of afternoon.

And gift. My mom said never received gifts from men, because it bad for a girl’s pride. I couldn’t agree more. It is true that girls like gift, and they like expensive gifts from men. But some men used this to get some control of the girls (and sad but true, but some girls can be controlled by things). So I have rule : never received gifts that you can’t afford by yourself. I can buy this capelet by myself, but I let him bought it from me. Just because it’s nice to receive things and to give things. It shows that we are two human being that needed appreciation and a feel-good feeling of giving gifts.

You smell wonderful tonight

If you talk about perfume in my family, you gotta listen to my dad.. he’s this funny flamboyant man who had a great sense of fashion and style.

he is my first introduction to fashion, from italian leather finest quality handbag to the importance to smell wonderful. Because of his job, he was fortunate enough to travelled almost around the world. when he got back, he brought lot of things for my mother; bags (which is now become my vintage aigner handbag) and perfume.

I remember my first sets of perfume (or was it my moms?) a seven miniature bottles from Paris. I didn’t like the smell of it (I was only a little girl), but I like the shapes of the bottles. When I grew up, and old enough to smelled un-baby cologne, my father bought me my first channel. It was Allure. I felt so grown up, yet I rarely used it (the bottle was so small, and I was a cheapo).

Then, I got my fave perfume, Clinique Happy. I wore it until the last drop. It doesn’t smell like grown-ups, and I really, really, really loves it.

The next one is, the most popular parfum ever, CK be. I love it.  If I may say, the unisex smell is genius. My bf wore it too. 😉

My other favourite, I wear it until last drop too, is Gucci Rush II, when I got it I didn’t know that this perfume was so popular until I mention it to one of my friend. ( She said the sequel better than the first one.),  but because I love it so much, I bought the first one, Gucci Rush, and Gucci Rush Summer.

I tried other brands, Miracle by Lancome, Romance by Ralph Laurens, Flower by Kenzo, La Belles de Ricci from Nina Ricci, the infamous No. 5. , J’Adore and Tendre Poison by Dior, But my gem in the collections is a series of limited edition also  by Christian Dior.

Forever and Ever, Remember Me, I Love Dior and Dior Me, Dior Me not. They are my baby, the last one was given genorously by my friend (no, not used, still sealed!) because she ‘didn’t like the way it smell, too girly’. I love you, Rhil for hating Dior’s smell. 😉 Sadly I can’t find the image of Remember Me, since it’s my favorite, showing a girl with Greek gown carrying a bow with lilac falling down her hair. Very beautiful.

my last perfume purchased was.. I can’t barely remember, maybe a FCUK from my bf.., I miss perfume so much but now with financial things to think, before bought it I always thought, there is something more important than to smell wonderful.

thinking again, maybe there is, but smelled wonderful is a cherry in your ice cream. No matter how expensive your outfit are, it’s nothing if you smell.. bad, but no matter how cheap your clothes are if you smell wonderful, you can make people like you -a nice attitude will help too-. (so to think again, perfume is a better investation than clothes.. :D)

because I’m such a cheapo wearing these expensive sprays, for every day use I wear Bath and Body Work Body Spray (I love Coconut Lime Verbana scent).

It’s been so long since I bought make-ups, so last week I decided to buy something for my lips. Due to the budget, I immediately decided to buy Maybelline. My sister got two of them (the lipglaze series) and they’re look really gorgeus on lips. But when I was going to enter Sogo, there was a Revlon lady offering me to try their lipgloss.

I tried some of them and fell in love with Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze number 505 (neverending nude). Without second thought, I bought it. Did I regret it? (cause it double the maybelline’s price), nope.

Every girl need a lipgloss, trying to find a perfect one (not to shiny, not to pink-ish, not faded too soon, not given the slutty look but fresh look) can be really hard sometimes (haha). The color match my skin, I really recommend it. And who says glazing only tasted good in donuts? My Revlon have this caramel scent. delicious and kissable 😉
